This is a picture that BC brought to the meeting tonight. There was some discussion about what it was. Pheasant got a few votes, but Mr. K. seemed convinced it was a duck. So a duck it is. In any case its a nice picture. You need to get pretty close to get one like this.

Pictures of bugs

How are the pictures going? Remember, the point of the pictures is to show that you can get close enough to an animal to get its picture. This is one that JB's dad took of a dragonfly covered in morning dew. The key to this, like any picture, is knowing when animals will be around, and getting close enough without scaring them. Dragonflies are only still when asleep, so you have to get up real early for this one. They have no sense of smell, so upwind and downwind don't matter.
